World Usability Day in Manila 2010 Highlights

The World Usability Day in Manila 2010 was held last November 13, 2010 at the Human Factors and Ergonomics Center (HFEC) at the De La Salle University in Manila.

This event was the sixth World Usability Day in Manila, with a select group of usability professionals and enthusiasts in attendance. The day's agenda was a set of talks from the HFEC folks, plus some networking afterwards. After a short introduction about the event, Ms. Jennifer Gutierrez introduced the HFEC to the attendees. Ron Polancos then gave a talk about usability.

Unlike previous World Usability Day in Manila events, this year focused on strengthening the Philippine Usability/User Experience community. This year's number of participants is not the biggest, but the most concentrated and focused ever. Contingents from SGS Philippines and US Auto Parts were there, plus entrepreneurs, consultants, and community members.

The Philippine usability and user experience community may not be that big, but events like the World Usability Day in Manila aims to grow and nurture the local community.

The World Usability Day in Manila 2010 event would not have been possible without the support of Globe Labs.
